Haryana, Rohtak, March 4, 2025, A chilling CCTV recording surfaced on Monday, showing the prime suspect in the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal allegedly transporting her body in a black suitcase. The footage, captured outside Narwal's residence in Rohtak, depicts the accused, identified as Sachin, walking through the street carrying the suitcase in which the victim’s body was later discovered.
Narwal’s body was found near a bus station in Rohtak on Saturday, prompting an intensive police investigation. Authorities revealed that the accused allegedly strangled her using a mobile phone charging cord before placing her body in the suitcase and abandoning it.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Sachin, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, was arrested earlier today. According to police officials, he operated a mobile shop and had been in contact with Narwal for the past one and a half years. Preliminary investigations suggest that a financial dispute may have led to the crime.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) KK Rao stated that multiple teams, including a Special Investigation Team (SIT), were deployed to track down the suspect after the body was discovered. "Our priority was to establish the victim’s identity, and once her family confirmed it, we swiftly pursued leads to locate the accused," he said, as quoted by PTI.
The police confirmed that Sachin and Narwal had met through social media and that he frequently visited her home. While a monetary dispute is suspected to be the motive, authorities have yet to verify the exact nature of the conflict. "There was a financial issue between the two, but the specifics are still under investigation. We cannot conclusively state that this was the sole reason for the murder," Rao added.
As investigations continue, the case has sparked significant public attention, with law enforcement under pressure to deliver swift justice in the brutal killing.
