Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday reaffirmed her commitment to addressing the concerns of home guards, assuring them that they can directly approach her without intermediaries.
Gupta made these remarks during a meeting with a group of home guards who claimed they had not received their salaries for the past five months. Among them were personnel deployed as bus marshals in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses for women's safety, some of whom stated they had not been paid since Diwali last year.
“If anyone wishes to discuss their grievances, they should come to me directly—there is no need for a mediator,” Gupta asserted during the meeting at her residence. She attentively listened to their concerns and assured them that their issues would be resolved at the earliest.
Expressing her gratitude and solidarity, Gupta later shared a message on X, stating, “It was a pleasure to meet the family members who came from every corner of Delhi. I carefully listened to their problems and assured them of prompt solutions. The selfless love, blessings, and support of Delhi’s people are my greatest strength and inspiration.”
The Chief Minister reiterated that addressing public grievances remains a top priority for her administration and vowed to safeguard the interests of all citizens.
Gupta’s government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), comprises six ministers, with the Chief Minister holding key portfolios, including Services, Revenue, and Women and Child Development. The BJP secured a decisive victory in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, winning 48 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was reduced to 22 seats.
