Drogheda Indian Association (DMA) Elects New Leadership for 2025-2026

As the Drogheda Indian Association (DMA) steps into its 20th year, the organization, known for its commitment to social and cultural causes within the Irish-Malayali community, has elected its new leadership. The election took place on March 8, 2025, at St. Fechins GAA Club, during the 19th General Body Meeting chaired by Coordinator Unnikrishnan Nair.


Elected Leadership for 2025-2026

The Drogheda Indian Association (DMA) has announced its newly elected leadership for the 2025-2026 term. The coordinators for this term are Emi Sebastian, Yesudas Devassy, and Jose Paul. Overseeing the financial management, Dony Thomas has been appointed as Treasurer, with Melvin P. George serving as Joint Treasurer. Ensuring financial accountability, Biju Varghese will take on the role of Auditor.

For youth engagement and media coordination, Dibin Joy, Airine Shaju, and Anna Thomas have been entrusted with responsibilities as Youth & Media Coordinators.

The Executive Committee for 2025-2026 comprises Unnikrishnan Nair (Royals Club), Silvester John, Roice John, Dinu Jose, Naveen Johny, Sinto Jose, Anil Mathew, Jugal Jose, Josan Joseph (Royals Club), Shias Abdul Khader, Ivan Philipose, Vijesh Antony, Ashish Jose, Arun Basil Issac (Royals Club), and Bibin Baby (Royals Club).

This newly elected leadership team will guide DMA’s initiatives and community engagement efforts for the upcoming year, continuing the association’s commitment to fostering cultural and social unity.

Acknowledgment of Community Contributions

During the meeting, the newly elected officials assumed their responsibilities, and the executive committee took the opportunity to honor prominent figures who have supported the Indian community in Ireland. TD Ged Nash and City Councillors Michelle Hall and Ejiro O’Hare Stratton were recognized for their contributions and support to the Indian-Irish community.

Speaking at the event, TD Ged Nash lauded DMA for its exemplary efforts in fostering community engagement and organizing numerous public events throughout the year. "DMA has set a remarkable precedent for community participation and cultural preservation," he stated.

Councillor Ejiro O’Hare Stratton extended her best wishes for Pooram 2025, one of DMA’s flagship events, and announced her participation in the Walkathon Challenge as part of the celebrations.

Ceremonial Proceedings and Closing Remarks

The event commenced with a welcome address by Anil Mathew, followed by the official handing over of responsibilities to the newly elected committee. TD Ged Nash and Councillors Michelle Hall and Ejiro O’Hare Stratton extended their congratulations and best wishes to the new leadership.

As a token of appreciation, DMA presented mementos to TD Ged Nash and Councillors Michelle Hall and Ejiro O’Hare Stratton, handed over by Emi Sebastian, Yesudas Devassy, and Silvester John. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Vijesh Antony.

With a dynamic leadership team in place, DMA looks forward to another year of vibrant community engagement, cultural celebrations, and impactful initiatives.
