Kawa Space’s Satellite Imagery Exposes Damage to Pakistan Air Bases Following India’s Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 14 — In the immediate aftermath of India’s precision strikes on 11 Pakistani Air Force bases on May 10 as part of Operation Sindoor, it was Indian startup Kawa Space that brought critical satellite intelligence to global attention. The high-resolution images released by the company offered the first independent visual confirmation of the extent of damage caused, countering official Pakistani denials and lending weight to India’s official narrative.

The imagery was amplified by the defence-focused X (formerly Twitter) account Alpha Defence, which circulated annotated images from Kawa Space, compelling global defence watchers to take note. “These images support India’s claims and reveal the true impact of our nation’s operations. In the fog of conflict, proof is power — and we found it,” said Kris Nair, Founder and CEO of Kawa Space, in an interview with CNN-News18.

Founded in 2019, Kawa Space is positioned as a next-generation global defence intelligence and space technology company. In collaboration with Bengaluru-based Kepler Aerospace, the firm conducted rapid satellite-based damage assessments of the targeted Pakistani airbases. Their analysis was shared with niche security publications and defence research networks.

Nair emphasized that Kawa Space’s capabilities go beyond conventional surveillance. “We are building foundational models for deterrence. Our systems not only detect and describe threats — they interpret battlefield conditions, decode military doctrines, and analyze millions of pixels in real time,” he explained, underscoring the company’s strategic orientation toward supporting national security operations.

While declining to confirm or deny speculation regarding satellite monitoring of Pakistan’s Kirana Hills — a site long believed to host nuclear infrastructure — Nair acknowledged sharing imagery of the region. The Indian Air Force had responded cryptically to the image, fueling further speculation in defence circles.

When asked about the philosophical underpinning of his work, Nair responded, “India is not just borders and slogans. It is rhythm, memory, and soul. The sword, when drawn for the right reasons, is not violence — it is reverence in motion.”

A native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Nair is no stranger to innovation at the frontier of space technology. He previously led ExseedSat-01, India’s first private satellite mission launched aboard a SpaceX rocket. His team also holds the distinction of securing a landmark contract from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), a rare achievement for a private firm.

The dissemination of Kawa Space’s imagery following Operation Sindoor has drawn global attention not only to India’s military capabilities but also to its emerging private-sector space intelligence infrastructure. The geospatial analysis reportedly confirmed that critical airbases in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Karachi suffered significant damage, further establishing the operational precision and technological edge demonstrated during the Indian strike.

As tensions in the subcontinent remain heightened, Kawa Space’s work reflects a broader trend: the increasing role of commercial satellite intelligence in shaping modern warfare, deterrence strategies, and geopolitical narratives.
