PM Modi in Rajasthan: “Terrorists Answered in 22 Minutes After Pahalgam Attack”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his first visit to Rajasthan following Operation Sindoor, declared that India had delivered a swift and decisive response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Addressing a public rally in Bikaner, the Prime Minister said the country avenged the massacre in just 22 minutes by eliminating key terrorist hideouts.

“The April 22 Pahalgam terror attack was avenged in 22 minutes,” Prime Minister Modi stated. “We destroyed nine major terrorist bases in a matter of minutes. The enemies of the nation have now seen what happens when ‘sindoor’ turns into gunpowder.”

Referring to the brutal attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 people — including tourists and a local pony handler — were killed, Modi said the terrorists deliberately targeted victims based on their religion.

“On April 22, terrorists removed the sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters after asking their religion. Though the bullets were fired in Pahalgam, the pain was felt by 1.4 billion Indians,” he remarked.

"A Unified India Responded as One": PM Modi

Modi commended the armed forces for their role in the retaliatory strikes and emphasized that the nation stood united in its resolve to eliminate terrorism.

“Every Indian took a collective vow — to reduce the terrorists to dust. To deliver a punishment beyond imagination, our government gave full freedom to the Army, Navy, and Air Force,” he said. “All three forces created such a chakravyuh that Pakistan was brought to its knees.”

The Prime Minister went on to praise the success of Operation Sindoor, stating:

“Those who sought to wipe away our sindoor have now been buried in the soil. Those who spilled Indian blood — their accounts have been settled. Those who believed India would remain silent are now hiding in fear. Those proud of their arms are buried under the debris of their own arrogance.”

India’s Three-Point Counter-Terror Doctrine

In a strong message to Pakistan, Modi outlined India's doctrine for responding to terrorism:

  1. Terror attacks on Indian soil will receive a decisive and timely response. The timing, method, and terms will be determined solely by Indian forces.

  2. India will not be intimidated by nuclear threats.

  3. No distinction will be made between terrorists and the regimes that support them.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack. According to government sources, the military operation resulted in the elimination of more than 100 militants affiliated with groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Targets included high-value terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The speech marks a renewed nationalistic tone in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism, reaffirming New Delhi’s intent to pursue an uncompromising security doctrine in the face of continued provocations.
