JAIPUR | May 22 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Rajasthan, offered prayers at the revered Karni Mata Temple in Bikaner district and inaugurated the newly redeveloped Deshnok railway station, a project designed to blend modern infrastructure with traditional temple architecture.
The redeveloped station, situated near the Karni Mata temple, is expected to significantly enhance the travel experience for thousands of pilgrims who visit the shrine annually. Inspired by the temple’s architectural style, the station is a part of the Indian Railways’ broader modernization initiative.
In a major boost to regional connectivity, Prime Minister Modi also flagged off the Bikaner–Mumbai Express from Deshnok. The new express service is aimed at improving long-distance rail connectivity between western Rajasthan and the financial capital of India.
Continuing his focus on infrastructure-led development, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation several key projects collectively worth more than ₹26,000 crore. These projects span various sectors and are expected to drive economic growth and employment in the region.
Additionally, in a significant move to transform railway infrastructure nationwide, PM Modi virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped ‘Amrit Stations’ located across 86 districts in 18 states and Union territories. These upgraded stations have been modernized at a combined cost of ₹1,100 crore, and are equipped with enhanced passenger amenities and modern design features.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a public gathering in Palana, where he is expected to highlight the government’s development agenda and recent achievements in infrastructure, transportation, and public service delivery.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and other senior officials during the ceremonies.
This visit marks a significant moment in Rajasthan’s infrastructure transformation journey and reiterates the Centre’s commitment to holistic and heritage-conscious development.
