Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Hails Operation Sindoor as Precision Strike Against Terror

Jodhpur, August 25 — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, declaring that the Indian Armed Forces delivered a “befitting reply” to Pakistan with precise and targeted strikes.

Addressing a programme in Jodhpur, Singh said: “Our soldiers did not kill terrorists based on their religion but on the basis of their deeds. The target that was decided was hit with precision.” He contrasted India’s commitment to the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) with the brutality of terrorists, who, he said, murdered civilians in the April 22 Pahalgam attack after identifying them by religion.

Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor was India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror strike, which claimed 26 civilian lives. Indian forces carried out cross-border operations, striking multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh confirmed that the operation resulted in the downing of six Pakistani aircraft — including five fighter jets and a high-value surveillance platform — and the destruction of nine terror camps. The IAF released before-and-after satellite images of Pakistani airbases as evidence of the strikes.

In Parliament, the Defence Minister reiterated that India would not engage in dialogue with nations that sponsor terrorism. “Dialogue is only possible with civilised and democratic nations, not those driven by religious fanaticism and hatred towards India. The language of terrorism is fear, blood, and hate — not dialogue,” Singh told the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has introduced new educational modules on Operation Sindoor, describing it as “a military success, a technological breakthrough, and a political message rolled into one.”
