The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its criticism of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), with party leader Amit Malviya describing the RJD as a “synonym for dirty thinking.”
In a post on X, Malviya referred to a video allegedly showing a man using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during an RJD rally addressed by Tejashwi Yadav.
“In the land of Sita Maiya, Bihar, the late mother of the Prime Minister is being repeatedly insulted. Leaders of the Congress and RJD are promoting this audacity from the party’s official platform. This happened again yesterday, when unruly RJD workers used vulgar language for the Prime Minister’s mother in front of Tejashwi Yadav, and Lalu’s son remained silent,” Malviya wrote in Hindi.
He further added:
“After all, what will be gained by abusing the Prime Minister’s mother? Sinking to this level in politics is shameful. RJD is synonymous with dirty thinking. As long as this party exists in Bihar, Bihar will continue to be shamed.”
His remarks come in the backdrop of a similar controversy in August, when a man in Darbhanga was arrested for using abusive language against the Prime Minister and his mother at a Congress-organised event. The BJP has since repeatedly demanded accountability from the Opposition.
RJD’s Response
Rejecting the allegations, Dr. Mukesh Roushan, RJD MLA from Mahua, claimed that the video circulated by the BJP was doctored.
“No RJD worker or anyone else used any abusive word for the Prime Minister. In the video that the BJP has shared, Tejashwi Yadav can’t be heard speaking. They have doctored the video to defame the RJD as part of a conspiracy,” Roushan wrote in a social media post.
