Mumbai: A mini-bus became stranded on Gorai beach on Monday morning after being caught in the incoming tide. While the driver managed to escape unharmed, the vehicle remains stuck in the water. Authorities confirmed that vehicles are strictly prohibited on city beaches.
According to police, the mini-bus had entered the beach to drop passengers at certain bungalows that have rear access from the shoreline. Around 10 a.m., while attempting to exit, the driver miscalculated the tide, leaving the vehicle trapped in seawater. Locals tried to assist by fastening the bus with ropes, but efforts to move it were unsuccessful.
No injuries were reported. “We questioned the driver and will register a case against him for causing danger to life,” an officer from Gorai Police stated. An FIR is being filed under relevant sections of the law.
