A shocking incident at Usmapur railway track has left the community in deep grief. A 29-year-old engineer, Gaurav Sawani, ended his life by jumping in front of a train, with the impact leaving his body severely mutilated. Police recovered the remains and informed his family.
A suicide note discovered at the scene revealed the reasons behind his decision. In the note, Gaurav wrote that he had been betrayed in love. He recalled moving to Noida a few years ago for work, where he met a young woman from Delhi through a private website. Their relationship grew closer over time, but according to him, the woman later filed a rape case against him.
Following the registration of the case, Gaurav was imprisoned and released on bail only about 15 days ago. Since returning home, he had been under severe mental distress. Neighbors said he appeared withdrawn, avoided social interactions, and seemed constantly depressed.
His childhood friend, Sandeep Gupta, described him as a bright student from an early age but admitted that recent events had shattered him emotionally. Neighbor Tipti Makkad (Sardarji) also noted that Gaurav had become increasingly isolated and appeared mentally disturbed.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to his death.
