Former Punjab DGP’s Son Found Dead After Alleging Family Conspiracy in Shocking Video

Chandigarh, October 20:In a shocking twist to a high-profile case, a new video has surfaced in connection with the mysterious death of Akil Akhtar — the son of former Punjab Director General of Police (Human Rights) Mohammad Mustafa and former state minister Razia Sultana — who was found dead at his Panchkula residence in August.

In the pre-recorded video, Akil accused his father of having an illicit relationship with his wife and alleged that he had planned to kill him days before his death. He further claimed that his mother and sister were complicit in a conspiracy to either murder him or falsely implicate him in fabricated cases.

Akil alleged that he was wrongfully detained, sent to a rehabilitation centre against his will, and deprived of his business income. He detailed the physical and mental abuse he suffered and accused his family of continuous harassment. The 35-year-old’s disturbing video was handed over to the police by his neighbour, Shamsuddin Chaudhary, who also filed a formal complaint demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

Police initially stated that Akil was found unconscious at his residence and that his death appeared to be caused by a drug overdose, as claimed by his family. However, Chaudhary’s complaint, supported by the 16-minute video recorded on August 27, has raised serious questions about the circumstances leading to his death.

In the video, Akil recounted discovering an alleged extramarital affair between his father and wife in 2018, claiming that since then, his relationship with his family had deteriorated severely. He alleged that his mother and sister plotted to kill him or frame him in a false case.

Chaudhary’s complaint highlights growing tensions within the family and urges authorities to investigate Akil’s death as suspicious. It also calls for a detailed examination of Akil’s social media posts, digital evidence, call records, post-mortem findings, and any possible involvement of family members or associates.

Adding to the confusion, another video has since gone viral in which Akil appears to retract his earlier claims. In the three-minute clip, he describes his family as caring and attributes his previous allegations to mental instability and schizophrenia.

“My sister would give me my medicines. I used to think she was poisoning me, so I wouldn’t take them. She would plead with me to take them,” Akil says in the video, before adding, “I am blessed to have such a loving family.”

However, the tone of the video shifts dramatically toward the end, as Akil resumes blaming his family, ominously stating, “Let’s see what happens in life — whether they finally kill me,” before the video cuts off.

Police have now registered a case against Mohammad Mustafa, his wife Razia Sultana, their daughter, and daughter-in-law under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 103(1) and 61.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities examining both videos and other forensic evidence to determine the truth behind Akil Akhtar’s death.
