10/11 Blast: Probe Uncovers Chilling Web of Radicalised Doctors and Foreign Links

New Delhi: The investigation into the Red Fort blast has revealed an alarming network of radicalised individuals allegedly plotting large-scale terror strikes across India. Exclusive details accessed by CNN-News18 indicate that the core members of the group — including two lady doctors from Srinagar and Anantnag — were indoctrinated under the influence of Maulvi Irfan, a cleric who reportedly radicalised them during his tenure at a Kashmir hospital.

According to top intelligence sources, Maulvi Irfan introduced the group to extremist ideologies such as the concept of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’, while propagating intense anti-Hindu sentiments. The indoctrinated members were then tasked with building a network of “open sleeper cells” across India — aimed at recruiting more operatives and widening their reach.

Officials have confirmed that those arrested so far represent the core leadership of this module, which had begun detailed planning for potential attacks. “They were very methodical. Random violence was not their goal — they specifically identified Delhi as the seat of power and targeted strategic sites,” a senior source told the channel.

A key focus of the investigation is the Maruti Brezza car linked to one of the arrested doctors. Authorities suspect that the missing vehicle may contain explosive material, and multiple search teams have been deployed to trace it. The doctor, arrested earlier this week, reportedly owned two Brezza cars, one of which remains unaccounted for.

Meanwhile, agencies have confirmed that two key operatives, identified as Adil and Muzzamil, travelled to Turkey earlier this year, where they are believed to have met their handler. Investigators say the handler not only arranged their stay but also coordinated their movements within Turkey, suggesting a well-structured international network behind the conspiracy.

Digital forensic analysis has yielded critical evidence. Over 400 encrypted chat exchanges were recovered between the two women doctors, discussing fund transfers, logistics, and safe houses. One of them reportedly received multiple foreign remittances via digital wallets from Istanbul and Doha between 2023 and 2024, suspected to be operational funding.

Both doctors had completed their MBBS degrees from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh, and first came into contact with Maulvi Irfan during their internship in Srinagar — a phase investigators now describe as the “turning point” in their radicalisation.

Officials say the network was highly organised, digitally adept, and financially supported from abroad, indicating a broader conspiracy still unfolding. Intelligence agencies are now probing links to Turkey and Qatar, along with tracking the financial channels that funded the group’s activities in India.

As the search intensifies for the missing explosive-laden Brezza, investigators are meticulously mapping digital trails, remittance records, and encrypted communications to identify more members of what authorities describe as a nascent but dangerous sleeper-cell network.

The blast near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening — which killed twelve people and injured several others — came just hours after authorities recovered 2,900 kilograms of explosives and ammunition from Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana. The seizure has exposed what officials describe as a sophisticated terror ecosystem, involving medical professionals turned extremists who allegedly aimed to execute coordinated pan-India attacks.
