Dublin | November 6, 2025 — Gardaí have arrested a man after uncovering a cache of firearms, ammunition, and drugs during a vehicle search in Beaumont, Dublin, early this morning.

The operation was conducted by officers from the DMR North Central Drugs Unit based at Store Street Garda Station. During the search, investigators discovered a significant quantity of weapons and narcotics concealed within the vehicle.

According to a Garda spokesperson, officers recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition during the operation. Among the items seized were a lever-action rifle, a crossbow, two disassembled handguns, a silencer, an air pistol, 553 shotgun shells, various other types of ammunition, and three knives.

In addition to the firearms, Gardaí also discovered several controlled substances concealed within the vehicle. The drugs included crack cocaine and cocaine valued at approximately €2,000, diamorphine (heroin) worth around €500, and a small quantity of cannabis.

An adult male in his late teens was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Dublin region. Gardaí confirmed that the seizure forms part of Operation Tara, a nationwide anti-drugs initiative focused on dismantling organised criminal networks and curbing the distribution of illegal narcotics across Ireland. Investigations are currently ongoing.
