Araria, Bihar | November 6, 2025 — As Bihar entered the first phase of its crucial assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Opposition, accusing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress of “protecting infiltrators” and “misleading voters with lies” for political advantage.
Addressing a massive rally in Araria, PM Modi alleged that the Opposition was more interested in safeguarding infiltrators than securing the nation’s interests. “These RJD and Congress leaders are busy saving infiltrators. They spread lies and undertake political tours to deceive the people,” he said, amid loud cheers from the crowd.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came against the backdrop of protests by the INDIA bloc over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
“My Mai-Baap Are the People of Bihar”
Taking a personal tone, PM Modi contrasted his leadership with that of previous governments, which he said treated citizens as subordinates. “Those who ruled during the jungle raj considered themselves emperors and called themselves your mai-baap,” he remarked. “But this is Modi — my mai-baap are the people of Bihar, the devotees, the public. You alone are my master, you alone are my remote control.”
‘Jungle Raj Crushed Bihar’s Dreams’
PM Modi revisited the RJD’s tenure during the 1990s, describing it as an era marked by lawlessness and stagnation. “Your grandparents once made Bihar the land of social justice,” he said. “But the 1990s brought jungle raj — a time of pistols, corruption, and chaos. Your parents’ dreams were shattered.”
He contrasted that period with what he called the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) focus on good governance, law and order, and infrastructure-driven development.
“Fifteen Years of Ruin Under Jungle Raj”
Highlighting Bihar’s transformation under NDA rule, the Prime Minister accused the RJD of wasting 15 years in misrule. “From 1990 to 2005, jungle raj ruined Bihar. The government looted the state and left it directionless. In those 15 years, how many expressways were built? Zero — bute sannata,” Modi said.
Massive Turnout “A Glimpse of the Verdict”
Praising the enormous turnout at his Araria rally, PM Modi said the enthusiasm of the crowd was itself an indicator of the election’s outcome. “I saw from the helicopter that thousands were walking to reach here. The sight itself reveals the result of this election,” he declared.
As polling took place across 121 constituencies, the Prime Minister’s address set the tone for the BJP’s campaign, reinforcing the NDA’s narrative of development and stability while accusing the Opposition of deceit and divisive politics.
