A Dublin housing estate was temporarily sealed off on Saturday morning following reports of a suspicious device in the Corduff area of Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the alert at approximately 10:30 a.m., immediately establishing a cordon to secure the vicinity. The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was deployed to assess the object.
After a detailed examination, the device was declared non-viable, and the area was subsequently deemed safe.
In a statement to the Irish Mirror, a Garda spokesperson said:
“Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of an alleged device in Corduff, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, this morning, Saturday, 22 November 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m. A cordon was established and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene. Following enquiries, the device was deemed non-viable and the area declared safe.”
