Dublin, Ireland: Gardaí and the Army Bomb Disposal Unit were deployed to Dublin’s north inner city on Friday evening following the discovery of a suspicious device in the North Strand area.
Authorities responded swiftly after the device was reported near the stretch between Newcomen Bridge and the Five Lamps Junction, prompting an immediate closure of the affected section of North Strand Road.
In a statement issued on Friday night, a Garda spokesperson said:
“Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending North Strand Road, Dublin 1, following the discovery of a suspicious device this evening, Friday, 7 November 2025. The services of the Army EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Unit were requested, and they are currently conducting an examination of the scene.”
The road has been cordoned off from the Five Lamps Junction to Newcomen Bridge, with local traffic diversions in place while the bomb squad conducts its investigation.
