The interrogation of Dr. Shaheen, one of the key accused in the emerging white-collar terror module case, has revealed a sophisticated network of radicalisation, covert operations, and alleged terror financing centred around Al Falah University. According to the interrogation report accessed by CNN-News18 and corroborated by senior security officials, a tightly knit group within the institution — dominated by Kashmiri faculty members — created an isolated ideological ecosystem that enabled two primary suspects, Muzammil and Umar, to operate with alarming freedom.
Investigators say nearly 70 per cent of the faculty on the medical campus were from Kashmir, forming a distinct linguistic and cultural bloc. Dr. Shaheen alleged that this group often held covert internal discussions while consistently keeping non-Kashmiri staff outside their communication channels. This exclusive environment reportedly allowed Muzammil and Umar to strengthen their influence, propagate extremist narratives, and plan operational activities without scrutiny.
Both men are believed to have served as the operational heads of the module. According to the interrogation, Muzammil managed logistics — including vehicles, movements, access points, and storage locations — while Umar focused on ideological mobilisation. Dr. Shaheen claims Umar frequently articulated hardline views and made veiled references to carrying out a significant attack in the near future.
Suspicion grew further when multiple identical drums were seen being moved across the campus under the guise of routine cleaning work. Dr. Shaheen stated that she believed these to be part of covert preparations. Investigators are also examining references to foreign travel, including trips to Turkey, and alleged links to a Pakistan-based handler identified as Ukasha, which suggests possible external ideological influence.
The investigation gained momentum after a major recovery: a large firearm, a smaller weapon, and CCTV equipment were found inside a bag allegedly connected to both Dr. Shaheen and Muzammil. This discovery has strengthened the assessment that the university campus may have been used as a pre-operation safe site for the group’s activities.
Security agencies are now mapping the wider network, financial channels, and foreign links as the probe continues to unfold.
