New Delhi: Hindu poaching in Bangladesh: Massive protest in Delhi; Tight security in front of Bangladesh High Commission.
A massive protest led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in the national capital protesting the ongoing atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh.
The march was held to protest the lynching of a Hindu youth named Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Police have tightened security around the Bangladesh High Commission premises in Chanakyapuri in view of the possibility of violence.
Protest by breaking through barricades
The protesters, who had gathered near Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro Station, marched towards the High Commission. The police had set up heavy barricades in three tiers on San Martin Marg for security. When the protesters breached the first tier of barricades, the police stopped them and parked DTC buses across the road to block their way. The police were strict in their stance that the protesters would not be allowed to enter the diplomatic area.
This is reportedly the last video of Dipu Chandra Das, who was killed in a mob attack in Bangladesh.

VHP with slogans
The protest raised strong slogans against the interim government in Bangladesh. The protesters chanted slogans like "Younus Sarkar Hosh Mein Aao" and chanted Hanuman Chalisa on the road. They also burnt effigies as part of the protest. VHP leaders and the police were constantly giving instructions to the workers to ensure that the law and order situation was not disrupted.
Caution at the diplomatic level
Protests are also intensifying in India, amid growing international concerns about the safety of minorities in Bangladesh's new political situation. In addition to the Delhi Police, paramilitary forces have been deployed in the area following the protest march. Police officials said that the situation is currently under control and no untoward incidents have been reported.
