Galway: St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Galway, witnessed a vibrant and spirit-filled celebration as SMCC Pithruvedi successfully hosted the Christmas Carol Song Competition – Season 2 at the Mervue Community Centre on Sunday December 7, 2025 evening.
The event brought together parish members, families, and well-wishers for an evening filled with melodious carols, festive joy, and strong community fellowship. Various prayer units and groups showcased their musical talents, spreading the true message and spirit of Christmas through beautifully rendered carol performances.
After keenly contested performances, the winners were announced as follows:
- 🥇 First Prize: St. Alphonsa Unit – €500 and Ever Rolling Trophy
- 🥈 Second Prize: St. Mary’s Unit – €250 and Ever Rolling Trophy
- 🥉 Third Prize: St. Joseph Unit – €100 Prize Money
The trophies and cash awards were distributed by Rev. Fr. Babu and Rev. Fr. Tijo, who congratulated all participants and appreciated the efforts of SMCC Pithruvedi for organizing such a meaningful and engaging event. They also highlighted the importance of unity, faith, and community bonding during the Christmas season.
The evening was further enriched with special food stalls and homemade festive delicacies, which were well received by attendees and added to the celebratory atmosphere.
SMCC Pithruvedi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and parishioners for making the event a grand success. The competition once again reaffirmed the parish’s commitment to nurturing faith, talent, and togetherness within the community.
