Wind, rain, and flooding continue as Storm Bram hits. Overhead waves, difficult travel conditions, and power outages are expected. Many schools are expected to be closed today.
Several flights have been cancelled at Dublin and Cork airports this morning, while ferry services have also been affected as Storm Bram slams ashore.
Met Office has issued status orange wind warnings across the country.
The first status orange wind warning came into effect just after 7am for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. It will remain in place until 3pm.
A second status orange wind warning will be in effect for Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Dublin, Kildare, Leinster, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly and Westmeath, as well as Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo from 11am. It will remain in place until 7pm.
Meanwhile, a cautionary advisory for Donegal will come into effect at 2pm and will remain in place until 9pm.
The warning came into effect for most parts of the country from 11am. An orange warning will be extended to Donegal from 2pm, and an amber warning will be issued for four northern counties. A yellow wind warning will be in place across the country until 9pm. An orange wind weather warning was in place in Limerick from 10am, but was later moved to 7am.
Signs of flooding in Cork city, Met Eireann warns of potential coastal flooding. Cork city has started to show the first signs of flooding from Storm Bram this morning.
This morning, the first of the expected power outages in Cork affected 70 homes in Cassillions, between the city and Fermoy. Crews are working to restore power there and hope to have it restored by 8am.
Cork City Council, Cork Co Council, ESB and Frontline Emergency Services are all on alert, with Cork City Council issuing a flood warning for the city's ports until 9pm this morning. As of 7am, there was no significant flooding in the South Ports.
Waterlogging on the road across Wandesford Quay has caused the road to be closed, and there is also waterlogging on Western Road. Lavitz Quay and South Terrace have been reduced to one lane.
Waves have reached the roads of Tramore, County Waterford. Several schools are expected to be closed across Ireland today, including those in Galway.
Flights were cancelled as Storm Bram hit, with some flights cancelled across Irish airports, with 42 flights cancelled at Dublin Airport alone.
Several flights have been cancelled at Cork Airport this morning. Aer Lingus has cancelled two flights from Cork Airport to London, one inbound and one outbound. Two Aer Lingus flights have been cancelled from Shannon this morning.
Storm Bram is bringing heavy rain and strong winds to large parts of the UK and Ireland, leaving thousands of people without power.
Amber wind warnings will begin this evening for northwest Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland - here are the weather warnings currently in force.
Rail services were disrupted in parts of Wales and southwest England, including some services to London; services in Scotland were also affected.
More than 70 flood warnings are in place across England, Wales and Scotland, while in Greater Manchester, a section of the M66 has been closed following a multiple vehicle collision.
An amber wind warning has been issued for four northern counties. A yellow wind warning will be in effect in Northern Ireland from 9am to 10pm.
The UK Met Office has issued an Amber warning for winds in counties Antrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry. The warning will start at 2pm and will remain in place until 7pm today.
