Horrific Crime in Bulandshahr: 6-Year-Old Gang-Raped and Murdered; Suspects Apprehended Following Encounter

BULANDSHAHR: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across Uttar Pradesh, a six-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and thrown from a building terrace in the Bulandshahr district.

The minor, who sustained catastrophic injuries from the fall, tragically succumbed while undergoing treatment. Law enforcement officials have confirmed the arrest of two prime suspects, identified as Raju Kashyap and Veeru, following a police encounter.

Details of the Incident

The heinous crime occurred in the Secunderabad industrial area, where the family of the victim resided in a rented apartment. On January 2, the young girl was reportedly playing on the terrace of the building when she was intercepted by the two suspects, who also lived in the same complex

.

According to the police, the men subjected the child to a brutal sexual assault. In an attempt to destroy evidence and frame the death as an accidental fall, they allegedly threw the girl from the rooftop. Her parents discovered her in a critical state and rushed her to a nearby hospital; however, despite medical efforts, the child passed away due to the severity of her internal and external injuries.

Police Action and Encounter

The investigation gained momentum after the victim’s father filed a formal complaint expressing suspicion against the two neighbors. Acting on intelligence regarding the suspects' whereabouts, police teams initiated a search operation.

The apprehension took place following a brief armed encounter when the suspects allegedly attempted to resist arrest and attack the police personnel. During the exchange, both Raju Kashyap and Veeru sustained leg injuries and were subsequently taken into custody. "The suspects confessed to their crimes during interrogation after receiving initial medical aid for their injuries," a senior police official stated.

Legal Proceedings

Authorities have registered a case under stringent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including gang rape and murder, alongside relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The local administration has assured the public of an expedited trial to ensure the maximum possible penalty for the accused.

This tragic event has once again ignited intense public outcry and raised grave concerns regarding the safety of minors and the prevailing law-and-order situation in the region.
