Hyderabad / Washington: An Indian couple originally from Andhra Pradesh lost their lives in a tragic road accident in the United States, while their two children sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at a hospital, according to family sources.
The victims have been identified as Krishna Kishore (45), a software engineer based in the US and a native of Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh, and his wife Asha (40). The accident reportedly occurred in Washington while the family was travelling in their car.
Both Krishna Kishore and Asha died at the scene of the crash. Their son and daughter, who suffered critical injuries, were rushed to hospital by emergency response teams and remain under medical care.
Relatives said the family had returned to the US just ten days ago after spending their vacation in India. During their trip, they visited relatives in Palakollu and later travelled to the United States via Dubai, where they also took part in New Year celebrations.
The sudden loss has plunged the family’s relatives and the local community in Palakollu into deep grief. Efforts are currently underway to gather updates on the condition of the children, whose health remains a major concern.
Meanwhile, arrangements are being initiated to repatriate the mortal remains of the deceased to India. Telugu community organisations in Washington, along with the Telugu Association of North America (TANA), have stepped forward to assist with the necessary procedures and to support the injured children during their treatment, sources said.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident are awaited
