Ghaziabad Hotel Worker Arrested After Video Shows Food Contamination

Ghaziabad: A serious food safety concern has emerged in Ghaziabad following the arrest of a hotel worker after a video allegedly showing him spitting on rotis before placing them in a tandoor went viral on social media.

The incident has triggered widespread public outrage and renewed questions over hygiene standards in eateries.

The incident occurred at A-One Chicken Point, a local restaurant in Ghaziabad. The accused, identified as Javed, was reportedly filmed by another individual inside the establishment. The video clearly shows him spreading a roti, spitting on it, and then sticking it onto the tandoor for cooking. After the footage began circulating widely online, police swiftly intervened and took the accused into custody.

Authorities said the act amounted to a grave violation of food safety norms and posed a serious threat to public health. Following the arrest, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, while officials also initiated checks into the restaurant’s licensing and compliance with hygiene regulations.

The incident has sparked strong reactions on social media, with many users demanding strict action against both the accused and the establishment. Citizens have also called for increased inspections and tighter monitoring of roadside eateries and small restaurants to ensure food safety standards are upheld.

Police officials stated that further investigation is underway and assured that appropriate legal action would be taken based on the findings.
