An emotional and distressing moment was captured on CCTV on Thursday when a minor girl jumped off a bridge into a river while returning home from school, in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
The footage shows the student walking along the bridge before suddenly leaping into the river below. A passerby can be seen rushing toward her in an attempt to prevent the tragedy, but the effort was unsuccessful. Another motorcyclist also stopped at the scene shortly after the incident.
As the girl disappeared into the water, startled onlookers reacted with shock, with one individual heard shouting in alarm. Within minutes, a crowd had assembled at the scene, but, as of now, it is not clear what happened next or whether the girl was rescued. Police and local authorities are yet to release official details regarding her condition or the circumstances leading up to the incident.
