New Delhi: In a disturbing incident that has once again highlighted the rise of juvenile crime in the national capital, a 22-year-old delivery executive was brutally stabbed to death by a group of teenagers following a minor altercation in Pandav Nagar, East Delhi. Police have taken three juveniles into custody in connection with the murder.
Incident on Busy Road
The incident occurred around 8 pm on February 2 in the crowded Acharya Niketan area of Pandav Nagar. The victim, identified as Arun Raj, was on duty when he reportedly got into a verbal altercation with three teenagers who arrived on a motorcycle.
According to police sources, the argument escalated rapidly, following which the juveniles allegedly attacked Arun with a knife, stabbing him multiple times.
Brutal Assault
The attackers inflicted several stab wounds on Arun’s neck and chest, causing him to collapse on the road, bleeding profusely. He was immediately rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police Action
Police teams reached the spot soon after the incident and launched an investigation using CCTV footage from the area. The suspects were identified and detained within hours of the crime.
“Further investigation is underway to determine the exact motive behind the attack and to ascertain how the juveniles procured the weapon,” a senior police official said.
Growing Concern Over Juvenile Crime
The incident has renewed concerns over the increasing involvement of minors in violent crimes across Delhi. Social activists and residents have pointed out that the growing tendency among teenagers to carry weapons and resort to extreme violence over trivial disputes poses a serious challenge to law and order in the city.
Family in Shock
Arun Raj was the sole breadwinner of his family, and his sudden death has left his relatives devastated. The family has demanded strict action and justice for the victim.
