Two Arrested in Bihar’s Danapur for Brutal Murder Linked to Personal Dispute

Bihar: In a significant development, the Special Task Force (STF) and local police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder of a young man in Danapur. The arrests were made from Pipra following a joint operation based on CCTV evidence and technical surveillance.

The accused have been identified as Gaurav Kumar, also known as Lali Sharma, a resident of Daldali Road in Danapur, and Nitish Kumar from Pethia Bazar. According to police investigations, the victim, Bittu Kumar, was allegedly killed following a personal dispute stemming from a romantic relationship.

Preliminary findings suggest that Bittu Kumar was in a relationship with the sister of one of his friends, which had led to repeated altercations in the past. On March 19, an argument reportedly broke out between Bittu and the accused at Gurudwara Ghat in Danapur. The confrontation escalated when the accused, along with their associates, allegedly assaulted Bittu with sticks, leading to his death.

After committing the crime, the accused fled the area and went into hiding at a relative’s residence in Pipra. Police were able to track and apprehend them using CCTV footage and digital evidence.

Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered at the Danapur police station against multiple individuals, including the arrested accused and others who remain unidentified. The victim’s brother, Abhijeet Kumar Singh, has been listed among the complainants.

Further details reveal that Bittu had recently returned from Delhi, where he was employed as a driver. Police sources indicated that tensions related to the same dispute had surfaced earlier in 2022, after which Bittu had left for Delhi. Upon his return, the conflict reignited, ultimately culminating in the fatal assault.

Following the incident, local residents staged protests in Danapur, blocking roads and demanding swift action against all those involved. Police officials stated that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining accused in the case.

The incident underscores how personal disputes, when left unresolved, can escalate into serious violence, prompting renewed concerns over law and order in the region.
