Patna: In a dramatic turn of events, a notorious criminal who had openly challenged law enforcement was killed in a police encounter in Motihari, Bihar. The operation, however, came at a cost, as a personnel from the Special Task Force (STF) lost his life in the exchange of fire.
The deceased criminal has been identified as Kundan Thakur, whose audio message—now widely circulated—has shocked both authorities and the public. The recording, believed to have been made two days prior to the encounter, captures Thakur issuing a direct and brazen challenge to the police.
In the audio, Thakur is heard calling a station house officer and daring the police to confront him. “You decide the place and time. I will be there in advance. Ten to fifteen policemen will be killed, and you will not be able to capture me,” he reportedly said, reflecting a striking level of defiance and confidence.
Authorities stated that the encounter took place following intelligence inputs, culminating in a gun battle that neutralized the accused. The incident underscores the growing audacity of organized criminal elements, even as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to curb such threats.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
