New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India’s call for peace and stability in West Asia amid escalating regional tensions. Speaking after high-level discussions, the Prime Minister underscored that India firmly supports the resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
Emphasising the importance of democratic solidarity, Mr Modi stated that when two democracies stand together, their collective voice carries greater weight on global issues. He further noted that India remains in close contact with multiple countries to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals affected by the evolving situation.
His remarks come at a time of deep uncertainty in West Asia, with New Delhi closely monitoring developments while urging all parties to exercise restraint and pursue peaceful engagement.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi held a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the rapidly intensifying regional crisis. The exchange followed recent military developments that have significantly heightened tensions across the region.
The situation escalated after coordinated United States and Israeli strikes on Iran reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. In the aftermath, Tehran and allied groups are said to have launched retaliatory strikes targeting military installations across West Asia.
These developments have amplified fears of a broader regional conflict and increased instability, prompting governments worldwide to closely track the fast-changing security landscape and its potential implications for regional and global stability.
