The controversy centres around references made to Pawan Kalyan, as well as Niharika Konidela and Ram Charan. The backlash has been particularly strong given Pawan Kalyan’s dual role as a leading film personality and the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

One of the most criticised lines from the performance involved a remark about divorce, which several users described as insensitive and crossing acceptable boundaries of humour.

According to reports, including those by 123 Telugu, individuals associated with the film industry have also voiced concern and called for an apology from Katikala.

As of now, Anudeep Katikala has not issued any public statement in response to the criticism.
