Muzaffarabad: Hamza Burhan, one of the main masterminds of the Pulwama attack, was shot dead. It is reported that unknown assailants opened fire in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Hamza Burhan was listed as a terrorist by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2022. Earlier, the NIA had identified Hamza Burhan's role in the Pulwama terror attack and had asked Pakistan to hand him over.
The attack that shook the country took place at 3.30 pm on February 14, 2019. A CRPF convoy carrying 2,547 jawans was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. The convoy reached near Awantipora in Pulwama district. A Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed a van loaded with explosives into the middle of these vehicles.
A massive explosion took place. 40 soldiers in the bus of Battalion No. 76 were martyred. Many of the soldiers in the buses that followed were seriously injured.
