Canada: Fredy George (29) of Kaitharat, Vathakkad, Angamaly, Thuravoor, died tragically after meeting with an accident while bathing in a lake in Ontario.
Fredy was a postgraduate student who had come to Canada for studies. The young man's unexpected departure has left his family, friends, and the expatriate Malayali community in mourning.
Fredy, the only son of George and Lacey, was studying in Canada to pursue his higher education when the tragedy occurred. Efforts were made to save Freddie, who was swimming in the lake, but his life was not saved, according to reports.
A public prayer and viewing was held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home in Markham, Ontario, from 12 noon to 2 pm on June 7, 2026. Relatives, friends, and acquaintances came to pay their last respects.
Meanwhile, the process of repatriating the body is progressing. Relatives said that more information regarding the funeral will be announced later.
