This green-mobility milestone highlights several incredible "Firsts" for the country and the world:
- World's Longest and Most Powerful: It is currently the world's longest (10 coaches) and most powerful (2400 kW) hydrogen train on a broad gauge.
- Capacity: The trainset can accommodate around 2,600 passengers.
- Clean Energy: Powered by a 1200 kW fuel cell propulsion system in each Driving Power Car (DPC), the only emission is water vapor.
- Refueling Infrastructure: A dedicated green hydrogen production plant utilizing the electrolysis process was established in Jind to fuel the train.
- Global Standing: India joins an elite group of nations—including Germany, Japan, China, and the US—that have successfully deployed or tested hydrogen-powered rail technology.
