Palestinian Authority Urges International Boycott of E1 Settlement Tenders as Regional Fallout Continues

RAMALLAH — The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a stern directive calling on international corporations and economic entities to steer clear of construction tenders tied to the contentious Israeli E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank.

The ministerial warning comes on the heels of the Israeli government opening tenders for housing units within the strategic E1 corridor. Palestinian officials cautioned that any direct or indirect corporate participation in the venture would directly violate obligations under international law, echoing widespread warnings that the expansion severely undermines prospects for a two-state solution by physically dividing the northern and southern West Bank.

The call aligns with growing international diplomatic pushback, following joint statements from several Western nations urging firms to refrain from bidding on projects within the zone.

Transportation Disruption at Ben Gurion Airport

While diplomatic and regional pressures mounted across West Bank corridors, domestic infrastructure faced sudden headwinds inside Israel as operations at Ben Gurion International Airport experienced a temporary shutdown.

A wildcat labor dispute involving ground-handling personnel and check-in counters brought departures and arrivals to a temporary standstill during a peak travel window. Although airport authorities initiated measures to gradually restore flight schedules, the sudden disruption left thousands of travelers stranded and prompted financial authorities to warn of substantial economic fallout.
