The violence erupted at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Schachen horse racing track in Aarau, where the "Aarau Rave VOL. 7" event was winding down. Victims scrambled for cover behind DJ booths and makeshift barriers as shots rang out. A 22-year-old woman—identified by Italian authorities as an Italian national with Swiss residency—was struck in the back by a bullet while taking cover and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
