India Revises Prices of 543 Cancer Drug Brands; New Rates From November 9

NEW DELHI — India’s National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has published revised maximum retail prices for 543 brands of cancer medicines, with the new rates set to take effect on November 9, 2026. While several medicines have seen substantial price reductions, the changes are not uniform across all listed products.

The revised list is based on price information submitted by pharmaceutical manufacturers and includes various brands and formulations of medicines such as anastrozole, azacitidine, bevacizumab and dasatinib.

The announcement follows the government’s decision to rationalise trade margins on 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs. The measure was introduced to curb excessive margins in the supply chain and improve access to cancer treatment. The government said the intervention could reduce the maximum retail price of some identified medicines by up to 70%, depending on their existing price structures.

The revised prices are intended to ease the financial burden on patients and families facing high cancer-treatment costs. Patients, hospitals and pharmacies can consult the NPPA’s official website for the updated prices of individual medicines and brands.
