Two young Keralite women were brutally murdered in Milpitas, California, another under custody

Milpitas, California — In a tragic incident that shook the entire expatriate Indian community, two young Keralite women were brutally murdered in Milpitas, California .

Their friend, a Keralite woman named Anila, was taken into custody by local police in connection with the double murder that took place on Friday .

Anjana (35), daughter of Haridas and Sushama, natives of Mannuthi Mudikode, Thrissur,Kerala Anne Mary Mathew (35) , a native of Kesavadasapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and wife of Jacob (Mithun), a native of Chingavanam, Kottayam,Kerala were killed.

According to initial information received from relatives and local media, it is reported that Anjana's friend, a young woman named Anila, a native of Kottayam, is behind the murder. 

They lived in an apartment as a family. Anjana's husband is a software engineer, Vijeesh. They have a six-year-old daughter. Anjana was a school teacher in California. Ann Mathew, a native of Kesavadasapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, was found murdered in her apartment. Ann, who was killed, is the wife of a native of Chingavanam. Ann has two daughters. Reports explain that Anila, who has been arrested in connection with the incident, is a friend of both of them. The incident took place when Anjana's husband had gone to work. 

The tragic events unfolded on Friday afternoon in the apartment complex where the three families lived:

• First murder: The accused, Anila, broke into Anne Marie's flat and stabbed her to death. Anne's body was later found lying in a pool of blood inside the flat.
• Murder by car: Following this, Anila called Anjana and summoned her to the ground floor of the flat. As soon as Anjana came down, the accused hit her with a car and killed her. The vehicle was driving away without stopping.

This is how the crime was uncovered:

Anjana's husband Vijeesh, who was returning from work, recognized the speeding vehicle and immediately informed Anne's husband Jacob. Jacob called his wife on the phone, but there was no response. When he then rushed to the flat, he found Anne Mary murdered.

Investigation is underway.

The deceased and the accused were close friends. They were reported to have spent time together and had recently attended an Onam celebration together. Although relatives allege that a work-related dispute led to the murder, the police have not yet officially confirmed the exact motive. The local police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
