Dublin— Ireland's Housing Minister James Browne has ruled out extending temporary housing construction incentives beyond December 2026, urging developers to complete eligible projects before the deadline.
The measures include waivers on development contributions and refunds of water and wastewater connection charges for qualifying residential developments. The scheme was introduced to reduce construction costs and accelerate housing delivery.
The Government has confirmed that the incentives will not continue into 2027. Developers are therefore under pressure to complete eligible projects before the existing deadline.
According to the Central Statistics Office, 26,833 homes were completed in Ireland between January and September 2026, compared with 24,256 during the same period last year.
