Fast bowler S Sreesanth, who represented India in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is, has announced his retirement from all forms of India domestic cricket. Sreesanth played the first two matches for Kerala in the ongoing Ranji Trophy picking up two wickets. On Wednesday, the 39-year-old quick released a series of tweets and a short video on micro-blogging site Twitter to disclose the reasons behind his decision.
Sreesanth, who played his first match for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy this time, later had to seek treatment at a hospital due to an injury sustained during training. With this, there were reports that the player would miss the rest of the matches of the season. This was followed by the announcement of the star's retirement.
Mr. tweeted that he was ending his first-class career for the new generation. He added that he was proud to have been able to represent India and that the decision was taken with great pain.

Sreesanth has played 27 Tests and 53 ODIs for India. He took 87 and 75 wickets respectively. He also took 10 wickets in 10 T20 matches.
