Former Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed Is The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan

Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that Khan's decision was taken following the approval of the core committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday nominated former Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed as his caretaker Prime Minister.

Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that Khan's decision was taken following the approval of the core committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Ahmed was sworn in as the 27th Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 21, 2019. He was born on February 2, 1957 in Karachi. He was the Chief Justice until February 2022

President Arif Ali Khan had earlier said that Khan would remain Pakistan's prime minister until a caretaker prime minister is appointed. According to a notification issued by his office, the caretaker Prime Minister will remain in office until the caretaker Prime Minister is appointed.

Alvi Khan had written to the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to nominate suitable candidates for the post of caretaker Prime Minister.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has resumed arguments on a voluntary notice of ongoing political uncertainty following the rejection of a no-confidence motion against Khan by National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri a day ago, after which the President dissolved Parliament.
