President Arif Ali Khan had earlier said that Khan would remain Pakistan's prime minister until a caretaker prime minister is appointed. According to a notification issued by his office, the caretaker Prime Minister will remain in office until the caretaker Prime Minister is appointed.
Alvi Khan had written to the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to nominate suitable candidates for the post of caretaker Prime Minister.
