Wicklow: President Michael D Higgins has officially opened the Treetop Walk, a 38m high viewing tower and other new facilities "Beyond the Trees at Avondale" in Wicklow, adding to the beauty of the Forest Walk.
This amazing tower in Wicklow's Avondale Forest Park was developed as a joint venture between Coillte, Fáilte Ireland, Carlingford Adventure Center and EAK Ireland. The tower boasts a 700-meter treetop walk and a 12-story high viewpoint. It also has the country's tallest 90m spiral slide.
The treetop visitor experience was developed by Tom McCard, chief executive of Carlingford Adventure, and Bernd Bayerkoehler, boss of EAK.
MacArdle and his wife Mary founded Ireland's largest outdoor visitor attraction in 1995, adding the Skypark Zipline and Aerial Adventure Center in 2014. In 2009, they opened the first Treetop Walk in EAK Germany. We currently have our twelfth Tree Top Walk in a total of seven European countries.
