Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has predicted that Kerala will see heavy rains till September 3. Within the next three hours, there will be torrential rain in five of Kerala's southern districts.
The Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts are expected to see one or two locations with heavy rain, thundershowers, and winds of up to 40 kmph, according to the IMD.
Across response to heavy rains, the IMD issued an orange alert on Tuesday in the districts of Idukki, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta.
Within 24 hours, very heavy rainfall between 115.6 and 204.4 mm is anticipated in these districts. From August 30 to September 3, IMD has issued a yellow alert for a number of districts.
