This round of offers, referred to as Round Zero, is for candidates who are not in competition with those who are awaiting results from the 2022 leaving certificate exams or who are evaluated based on other factors.
Graduate entrance medicine applicants, additional mature applicants, delayed and Access applicants, and applicants presenting QQI FET/FETAC qualifications for consideration for entry to courses with a quota for QQI FET applicants are among those who fall under the Round Zero category.
Successful candidates will also receive an email or text (if they chose to do so) with details of their offer in addition to the offers being viewable starting at 10 a.m. today.
If a person receives an offer in Round Zero, they must accept it by 3:00 PM on August 10 in order to take the position.
This year's Round Zero saw the issuance of 3,346 Level 8 offers and 1,810 Level 7/6 offers.
Nearly 9,000 applicants have now received offers from the CAO in Round A and Round Zero totaling more than 11,000 offers.
All other qualified candidates will receive Round One offers on September 8th.
Successful applicants will also get an offer notification by email and text message if they selected this option. These offers will be accessible to view online starting at 2 p.m. on the day of the selection process. There won't be any postal offer notices sent out.
The deadline for responses to Round One proposals is six days later, on September 14, at 3 p.m.
The second round of offers will then be accessible online starting on September 19 at 10am.
A mature, deferred, graduate entry medicine, and access applicant should log into their CAO accounts today to see if they have received a Round Zero offer, according to CAO spokesperson Eileen Keleghan.
“QQI FET/FETAC applicants who applied for a course with a quota for QQI FET applicants should also check their account. To ascertain whether your course is a QQI quota course, go to www.cao.ie/qqi and search the entry requirements section,” Keleghan said.
“Offers must be accepted by 3 pm on Wednesday next, 10 August. Failure to accept an offer by the reply date will result in the offer being cancelled” she added.
