IRELAND: Wexford Malayali Association's Onam celebrations were extensive; Member of Parliament Ms.Verona Murphy lit the lamp and inaugurated the event

Wexford: This year's Onam celebrations of Wexford Town/County were held on 5 September 2022 at St. Joseph's Community Hall with great enthusiasm and participation in the presence of the Wexford Malayali community.

Member of Parliament for Wexford County, Verona Murphy, inaugurated the ceremony, which was attended by more than 300 people.

The traditional Maveli welcome followed by the magnificent Thiruvathira. Along with this, entertainment programs including games and cultural programs for all age groups were held. A sumptuous Onam feast was also prepared for all those who participated in the program. A fierce tug-of-war between the Wexford and Enniscorthy teams was the highlight of the event, with the Wexford team emerging victorious.

Various outstanding performances by young artists as well as a live music band performance by Wexford Singers added to the richness of the event. This Onam celebration was a day for all Wexford Malayalees to enjoy to their heart's content.
