Kerala: Popular Front started hartal in the state today, the arrest was made in protest against the raids and arrests conducted by the NIA across the country. The hartal is from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm.

District police chiefs have been instructed to provide necessary security to government offices and institutions and public transport systems including KSRTC. The morning service was started from Tiruvambadi KSRTC sub-depot, but later the service was suspended.

Any violence during the hartal will result in immediate arrest. The police have instructed that shops should not be forced to close and the movement of people should not be restricted. Various universities have rescheduled the exams that were to be held today. Mahatma Gandhi University has postponed all examinations scheduled for tomorrow.
