Michigan: This year's scholarship and commendation plaques of the Detroit Malayali Association, USA which are considered along with the academic excellence and the social interactions of the students, were distributed at the venue of Onam Celebrations.
This year Kumari Archana Chandran was awarded the first prize of one thousand dollars cash prize and a commendation plaque as part of finding and encouraging those who have high academic standards and social commitment among the students who have completed their high school studies and come to the college.
The 2nd and 3rd position scholarship and certificate were won by the brilliant Christian Thomas and Kevin Mathews respectively. President Osborne David and Secretary Dinesh Laxmanan at a night of singing and dancing by Sithara Krishnakumar, Harish Sivaramakrishnan and Job Kurien as part of the Onam celebrations at Seaholms High School DMA in Birmingham. Remax Realtor Koshy George, Paul Kuriakos and Shalu David presented scholarships and plaques for the Paul Family Foundation in the presence of Treasurer Dias Thomas.
Students who have been active in social service and philanthropic activities along with exam success were selected by a committee consisting of GG Paul as Chairman and Dr. Shalini Jayaprakash, Mathew Cheruvil, Prasanna Mohan and Madhu Nair as members.
