Dublin: Pharmaceutical company Novartis Global Service Centre Up to 400 jobs will be cut

IRELAND:
Pharmaceutical company NOVARTIS has announced plans to cut up to 400 jobs in Dublin. The changes will take place at the Novartis Global Service Center in Dublin by the end of 2024.

The company said the decision was a "strategic" one and part of creating a new organizational structure across several locations.

It said the new structure will be “leaner and simpler”.

The company did not specify which roles will be cut in the change.

In a statement, the firm stated that it "recognises that publicising such an intention has a tremendous impact on people and generates uncertainty."

It stated, "Novartis is committed to keeping associated informed in a timely and transparent manner as is practicable."

According to Irish legislation, the corporation said it will consult with employee representatives on these recommendations.

Around 108,000 people globally are employed by Novartis.

Over 1,500 people are currently employed by the company at its two Dublin and Cork facilities.
