ISRO enters the international commercial satellite launch market with a decisive achievement in Indian space history. A new history has been created in the field of satellite launch in India. Satellites weighing 5400 kg were put into orbit at once. This is also the first time that such heavy satellites have been launched from India.
British internet service provider 'OneWeb' launched 36 satellites this morning. ISRO declared the launch a success. ISRO's biggest fat baby LVM-3 rocket launched from Sriharikota. At 12.07 pm, the rocket lifted off from the launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, carrying OneWeb's satellites.
36 more satellites of OneWeb will be launched in January 2023. OneWeb is a huge project that provides internet directly from satellites. An agreement was reached between Network Access Associated Limited (OneWeb) and NewSpace India Limited, a subsidiary of ISRO.
OneWeb is a joint venture between India's Bharti Global and the UK government. The aim of the project is to launch 650 satellites in low earth orbit and provide satellite internet service on their back.
