Met Éireann has issued warnings of rain and wind for many parts of the country.

A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Munster, Connacht and Donegal this morning.

It will come into effect from 1pm and is valid until 10pm tonight, with a warning of heavy rain causing disruption.

The following counties have a status yellow wind warning: Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo.

This alert is in effect from today at 5 p.m. through tomorrow at 12 p.m.

Winds from the south-east will shift to the south-west and have mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h or more expected for exposed locations and areas close to the shore.

In addition to inconvenience, Met Éireann issues a wind warning.

A marine warning for small craft is thus in effect for all of Ireland's shores and will remain in effect through 8 p.m. tomorrow.
