USA: Four members of an Indian-origin family have been abducted in the US state of California

Los Angeles: Four members of an Indian-origin family, including an eight-month-old girl, have been abducted in the US state of California. Police have warned that the suspect is armed and considered dangerous. A family from Central Valley was kidnapped on Monday in Merced County, California. The family members have been identified as eight-month-old Aruhi Dheri, her mother Jasleen Kaur, 27, father Jasdeep Singh, 36, and uncle Amandeep Singh, 39.

KIDNAPPING UPDATE!

On October 3rd, 2022, at approximately 11:39 am, CAL FIRE Madera-Mariposa-Merced was dispatched to Buhach Road and Oakdale Road in Winton for a report of a vehicle on fire. The vehicle was later identified to be a black 2020 Dodge Ram truck. The CHP - Merced arrived on scene to start the investigation. At approximately 12:35 pm, California Highway Patrol requested the assistance of Merced Police Department in an attempt to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, Amandeep Singh. When the Merced Police Department arrived at the residence, they were not able to make contact with Amandeep however, they were able to reach another family member. The family members attempted to contact Jasleen Kaur, Jasdeep Singh, and Amandeep Singh. When they were not able to reach their family members, they called the Merced County Sheriff's Office to report Jasleen, Jasdeep, Amandeep, and 8-month-old, Aroohi missing. At approximately 1:04 pm, our Office was notified and responded to a business on South Highway 59. During the primary investigation, Detectives determined that the individuals were kidnapped. We are working with the California Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and other local law enforcement agencies to bring this family home safely. Police released pictures

Sheriff’s police have released two photos of a man they believe to be a kidnapper. He identified the suspect, saying that he had a shaved head and was wearing a hoodie (cap attached to a T-shirt). Authorities said on Monday evening that an eight-month-old girl and her parents were abducted by a man believed to be armed and dangerous. A relative of the family has also been kidnapped.

“According to the information I have received so far, no ransom has been demanded,” the sheriff’s office said. We need your help. We consider the suspect to be armed and dangerous. Sheriff Warneke said, ‘We are yet to know the reason behind the incident. All we know is that he has been kidnapped. He has appealed to the people to inform the police if they know anything about the suspect. The incident was informed by sharing a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. 

Such an incident happened in the year 2019
At present, the investigation of this incident is going on and the Sheriff has assured to give any positive information in this as soon as possible. There is no contact with the relatives of this family in India so far. In the year 2019, Indian-origin techie Tushar Atre also went missing in a similar way. But a few hours later his body was found in his girlfriend’s car. The incident took place when the owner of a digital marketing company was kidnapped from his California home.
