Two boards, two robotic palm trees forming a heart, slide off the stage and 'Optimus' walks out to cheers and applause. It walked up to the front of the stage and waved to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who was standing at the other end of the stage.

Tesla is developing a humanoid robot called Optimus, and the company announced in February that work on the test robot had started. In Palo Alto, California, the Tesla headquarters is where the unveiling happened.

Musk shared a different video of Optimus dancing and waving at the crowd. The presenter announced as the humanoid robot walked backstage, "This is actually the first time the robot has functioned without a tether was onstage tonight."
A lot less expensive than some of Tesla's vehicles, millions of Optimus can be made by the electric vehicle manufacturer and sold for $20,000 each, claims Musk.
According to Musk, the company will be prepared to accept orders within the next three to five years, according to news agency Reuters. Musk stated that there is still much work to be done to perfect Optimus and demonstrate it before adding, "I think Optimus is going to be great in five or ten years, like mind blowing," afterwards.
According to Musk, Optimus "is not directly in line with increasing sustainable energy." "With the introduction of Optimus, I suppose the mission does somewhat widen to, you know, I dunno: making the future amazing,"
Even after the launch, Musk posed with "Optimus" and shared a photo and announcement on Twitter.
“Naturally, there will be a catgirl version of our Optimus robot,” the Tesla chief, known for his shock-and-awe announcements, wrote.
